Born in Trinidad & Tobago, we carry with us the richness of Caribbean culture shaped by an early tradition of always stepping out polished and presentable. The heritage of showing up well-dressed is woven into the fabric of who we are, a reflection of pride, heritage, and identity.

As members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, initiated into the Beta Alpha Omega Chapter in Spring 2019, we embrace a lifelong commitment to excellence, service, and sisterhood.
Pretty Dept is an extension of that legacy, empowering women to show up boldly in every space.

Fashion has always been part of who we are. Known for setting trends and expressing our individuality through style, we created Pretty Department to reimagine what professional power dressing, street chic and luxe loungewear can look like: bold, timeless, and unapologetically pretty.

The Story Behind Our STANDING ON BUSINESS Collection

At Pretty Department, our mission is to celebrate the power of femininity with modern, elevated designs inspired by the iconic women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. The Standing On Business Collection was designed with intention - to disrupt what professional power looks like. For far too long, 'pretty' power dressing has been defined by stiff, matronly blazers or bright pink-and-green pieces that never quite feel right. Different was overdue, and this collection is the answer.

The four piece collection features refined simplicity, feminine contoured tailoring, and custom finishes, all anchored in timeless design. Our pieces are made to last with classic silhouettes designed to be versatile and timeless.
